It is the Indian company that makes licensed versions of Suzukis in India. The cars are called Maruti-Suzuki, so a Swift would be called a Maruti-Suzuki Swift. The cars are mostly the same as the Japanese/European models with suspension tuning for India is rough roads, however some of them ae models that have been phased out- for example the last-generation Swift is sold as the Esteem, and the last generation Alto as the Maruti-Suzuki Zen

Suzuki started its South Asia Manufacturing in India with the brand name Maruti or MUL or Maruti Udyuog Limited. Its a joint sector (50:50) company between Suzuki Motors Japan & Govt of India. It was at a time a leader in India car market & had a control over almost 85 % of all the car market.However last 10 years Marutis market share has dropped from 85 % to almost 55%.
Why Maruti is successful in India because it makes only small , compact & mid sized cars in India which r ideal for small & narrow city roads in India & also that it has great fuel economy which is a great advantage in India which has very fuel prices.

Maruti is one of the popular God(monkey face with monkey tail) in Hinduism. He is very popular for his mighty power. It believes that he is the son of Air God. His weakness is he do not know how mighty he is, somebody has to tell him about his power then only he will react.
