I have selected two cars Ford Flair 1.3 and Maruti Esteem VXi, Pls tell me which is better

l would suggest the esteem vxi, simply because its a maruti , very low maintainence, good for city use, an excellent engine.

on the other hand the ikon is bigger, but not powerful, more solidly built, the ingress and egress in front and back is good, it is expensive to maintain, very good handling car , good for highway.

If its city use buy the esteem, else pick the ikon without hesitation

Esteem - If u r lookin for low maintenance Maruti is always the way to go.. Its like no hazzles after u buy the car. Fuel Avg is also very good. Also maruti network is better than ford for servicing. Spares r also real cheap

Ikon - More stylish & up-class but might give u some maintenance night-mares. Also its less fuel efficient. Driving pleasure is better in ikon.. u feel more powerful..

So if u want no -tension car .. esteem is the one for you.. if style & performance matters go for ikon..

Hi Shri. l would like to suggest u to go for Maruti Esteem since its a very nice car. Got oodles of power, great styling compared to Ford flair & gives u good average than flair.
Also u get best service from Maruti & spares r cheap comparing to fords flair.
Remember one thing, Ford is going to discontinue the Flair model after sometime ie 6 to 8 months. Later spares wont be available for flair while even maruti closes sales of esteem, u get engine spares from the swift model.
So choose the Esteem. Its Big on power & Big on Mileage.

The ford Ikon engine was designed to be throaty & powerful. it is an old technology push-rod (cheaper to make), will give u goos bursts of speed but can be quite thirsty. The Esteem on the other hand is an old block with a new tech head, so it delivers smooth power efficiently. The Esteem is for conservatives. It is a perfect but incredibly dull car. The ikon has something about its style that makes it a little more appealing. Since they both cost the same, l guess u should base ur decision on which of these matters most to you
1. style & image - The Ikon is much better
2. efficiency - Esteem is better
3. long term maintenance - Any Maruti scores
4. ur usage pattern - The esteem is more practical for long drives (more boot space)

Always Esteem. For good looks, style, fuel efficiency, the best power-to-weight ratio, resulting in the best pick-up. Lower maintenance costs.

hi l am from Baroda.
l would suggest u to go for the Esteem because it is cheaper to buy & more improtantly it is cheaper to run & maintain. The maintanence is the lowest for any midsize car.
Other thing, the Ikon 1.3 has lot less power & drinkis more fuel. On the other hand the Esteem sips the fuel & performs better. Its engine is great. On the highway also the esteem can perfrom better & u wont have to be on the wrong side of the road because of the fantastic performace & power. You can overtake easily. yes the Ikon is more solidly built but that is not enough to buy the ikon. The esteem has a legendary image for reliability & the service of maruti is unmatched by any.
And if u put more emphasis on city driving, Then look no beyond the Esteem as it has light steering, small size, good visibility,etc. So my advice is to go in for the Esteem unless u r going to use the car for highway driving ONLY.
