l WAS REALLY EXITED 2 ANSWER YOUR QUESTION.
even l am thinking 2 buy a swift diesel!My dad is an automobile engineer & he told me that the SWIFT diesel will b launched in april 2007.mind u that in april 2007,SWIFT SEDAN(another model of SWIFT ) will also b launched.

Are you planning to drive at least 40 km per day? If not, then Diesel may not be best economical option for you.

Expected to be about Rs. 6.4Lakhs in Feb~March 2007.
If you are doing less than 60km/ day it is totally not worth it. bear in mind that Maruti service people have no clue about how diesel engines work, and maruti themselves will be getting this from Tata's/ Fiat because Suzuki has no diesel expertise.
Wait for the new DiCOR indica or indigo. They are far more practical cars, if you are not interested in Europe-like requirements such as ABS.

maruti will launch the new swift deisel in early 2007 with a price tag of 6.4 lacs.i wud advice to go for the the petrol swift.but if u still want deisel u cud go the indigo.i own it .believe me it is extremwly powerful.for other automobile questions contact me at aman_carfreak.com
