My view is no. There are a number of coatings that sales people try to sell as an extra for new cars. The sales pitch is that you will not need to polish the car for a long time after the coating has been applied. However, any coating of this type will not stand-up to much and if like me you enjoy washing and polishing your car its a complete waste of money.

You do not need a Teflon coating for a new car. You never need it if you polish your car at least once in a year. Remember one more thing. car makers are not fools!
