Hi l purchased WagonR VXI.
l wanna know what is the best CD , Mp3 audio system ? and how many speakers are needed.
If possible please let me know the cost and best place to purchase in Bangalore.

Mostly l will using this audio system 4 times per month on long drives ( ~ 300kms)

l have a 5 year old Wagon R in which l have installed a 1 DIN Pioneer system. In the front l have installed 2 Kenwood component speakers (the mechanic suggested Kenwood over Pioneer in the front). At the rear l have installed Pioneer oval speakers (3 way) as they provide good bass. The entire package cost me around Rs.16000/- five years ago although l guess it should be cheaper today.

Installation of the rear speakers is tricky in the Wagon R because u have to compromise between luggage space & performance. The mechanic offered 3 choices.
1. Fit each rear speaker in a fabricated wooden box & install the box into the boot. This configuration gives excellent performance but robs u of a lot of luggage space.
2. Fit the ovals on the boot door. This is the most straight foward & this is what l did. The original door pad is replaced with a heavy duty pad & the ovals r screwed on them. Performance is average & with heavy bass the board tends to vibrate. But u do not lose out on any boot space & installation is straight foward.
3. Fit a parcel tray on the boot & install the ovals on the tray. This provides better performance than the 2nd option & still leaves decent boot space, but u will not be able to fold the rear seats without removing the parcel tray. Use this option only if do not intend to ever fold the rear seat.

To get to the point Pioneer, Kenwood & Sony provide u with the best range of cheap models with Pioneer giving u best value for money. Other brands such as Blaupunkt, JBL & Alpine r better but cost more. 4-speakers (2 front & 2 rear) r the best for such a small car. I've given my cost above, so u should be able to get one installed for even less. You can search the internet for places to purchase in Bangalore. l am sure there r a lot of places in Brigade Road & thereabouts where u can check out.
