Yes.But if you get the coil and fan at the back near the fuel tank, the ac will do wonders and your car will not get heated up. Reason:The coil and radiator are right behind each other in the original way.

There r many reasons for the engine to overheat. Assuming that the cooling system is OK & u install a new A/C system , the condenser of the A/C is mounted in front of the Radiator & the condenser itself gets quite hot. This in turn increases the air temperature to increase passing thru it & the radiator of the car gets hot air so the engine gets heated. Now since ur car is more than 12 years Old u need to buy a new radiator & also install a higher amperage engine / radiator fan . This is used in A/c cars & is more powerful . If still ur car heats up then the reason is that the engine is weak & compression is low & the engine is overloaded. This can only be rectified by re building the engine . People have suggested of installing the radiator behind the car which is good suggestion but then ur alternator becomes over loaded as the electrical load increase . Your battery may drain & fail hence u will have to upgrade to a more powerful alternator of atleast 55amps capacity
