I have Maruti 800 6 years old. How can I know what is the mileage of my car at present?

Fill the tank to full capacity
, note the km reading
Run for few days till nearly 25% tank is empty
Note down the km reading
refill to full capacity
Note the petrol in litres

kmpl= (final km reading-initial km reading)/petrol reiffled to fill up the tank

Note the odometer reading, Fill the petrol tank. Go about 20 km distance at speed 60 KPH. Again fill the tank.So you will come to know the distance covered for petrol consumed.

after noting the kilometre reading from the panel, fill up the tank. run the car till half tank. note the reading again. fill up the tank again and note the amount of petrol filled. calculate the kms travelled by substracting the present reading wth the previous reading. divide this figure by the amount of petrol filled for the second time. that is the mileage of ur car

Go to a maruti dealer service center & ask for check up the fuel consumption .
Normally they have the test rigs & test the performance. otherwise they will do some testing metheod of checking for one liter of petrol with measured bottlecan & with the reading from odo meter.

Or otherwise u ur self can check by filling full tank & note down the odometer reading when it is full & then drive for two or three days without refilling . Say approximately u can drive for 100 or so KMs & again top up the full tank & note down the fuel filled in the second time & at that time what is the odometer reading .
This will give u the average fuel consumption (ie for example say at the full tank in first time the reading is 458621km & after refilling u might have filled 5.50 liters to top up & ur km reading is 458733km then u can findout( ie 112kms run approximately with 5.50liters then u can divide 112by 5.5 & arrive at the avg km ur vehicle gave.
) Hi this is only a method & it is preferable to find out by dealers test rig method which will be more or less at standard testing conditons & ur own method will give exact condition since the real running at actual conditions will be evident.
So decide accordingly .

full d petrol taqnk..note d distance in d odometer n subtract it frm new reading whn petrol is empty..n divide it by 28..if ur car is maintaind well n done75000kms it shud giv 15kmpl
